How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to Your Word
Those who read the Bible are familiar with this verse from Psalms 119:9. It is quite natural that we address it to young people since it talks about how young men can keep themselves pure.
In youth, man is prone to errors and temptations because of a lack of life experience and wisdom. It is therefore important to be directed by the Word of God at the onset of life path. The Book of Proverbs 22:6 says: “Train a child in the way he should go, and he will not turn from it when he is old”.
Righteousness and purity of heart are God’s purpose for each person. The Word of God is God’s means to achieve this purpose. As Christians, we are concerned about falling moral standards in the society we live. We are concerned about the crime rate increase, lawlessness, and the adoption of non-biblical laws by the government. This process has not affected only the youth, but all age groups. One of the reasons is the wrong attitude to the Word of God, neglecting and even rejecting the Bible. Hence, all the negative spiritual implications: the bondage of sin and various addictions. It is paradoxical that we live in a free world where there are so many slaves!
Like medicine for a sick man are the words of Jesus Christ: “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). I want to say to everyone: “People, stop! There is a solution. It’s in Christ!”
Let us remember that “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” (Matthew 5:8).
