Jesus replied: You may go. Your son will live. The man took Jesus at His word and departed[/blockquote]
I would like to congratulate all the fathers as we celebrate Father’s Day every year in June. I so desire that all of us, parents, most especially fathers, would come to Jesus with our needs and questions.
In the Gospel of John chapter 4, we read that a royal official whose son was ill and was near death, came to Jesus. This father asked Jesus to come with him and heal his son. The key to this miracle was that the man came to Jesus. Much will change, if we come to Jesus and allow Him to control our situations. Why is it that we don’t go to Jesus, but rush to the Pastor? The Pastor can only do two things. He can give advice based on his own wisdom, or go to Jesus on your behalf and ask Him for wisdom to relate to your problem.
The situation will change if you go to Jesus and He will say the Word. The Word of Jesus has life. His Word is stronger than any law of morality, religion and science.
I sincerely wish for myself and every father to rush to Jesus, knowing that the answer is in Him. Let us trust the circumstances we find ourselves in to Him and be willing to listen to and do what He tells us. The royal official asked Jesus to come with him, but Jesus told him to go home. The moment the father in faith turned to go home, his son was healed.
