Pastors Christmas Greeting:
Matthew 1:23
Behold, the Virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which is translated: “God is with us”
It is truly wonderful that we live in a country where the government celebrates Christmas – the birth of Christ. People have time off work, they decorate their homes, exchange gifts with one another. Many companies organize Christmas parties for their employees. Unfortunately, for many people Christmas is merely a celebration limited to gifts, decorations, cards, food and vacation. How I wish that “Jesus is the reason for the season!” would resonate so much louder.
Only those who truly love God and have strong faith will go to church and give glory to the Creator for the birth of the promised Messiah of Israel, Savior of the whole world.
Think about these amazing events that lead to the fulfillment of the prophesies about the Messiah. For example, the Old Testament prophet Isaiah 7:14, where it says: “Therefore, the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: “Behold, a Virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Emmanuel”.
With the birth of Jesus, the era where God resided in the Holy of the Holies of the tabernacle or the temple has ended. He doesn’t live in a temple anymore – the Spirit of God lives in the heart of every believer! Christmas is joy because God came to earth, became man and redeemed us from our sins.
My sincere wish for you is that Jesus Christ would be born in your heart and live in it.
Merry Christmas!
With love,
Pastor Yuri Georgiev
