Pastors Greeting: Month of April
Luke 24:5-6
Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen…
These amazing words were proclaimed by the angels at the empty tomb in the garden of Joseph of Arimathea. How profoundly symbolic are similar searches of the living God in the wrong place, there where He isn’t.
Luke tells us of the women who came with Jesus from Galilee, and who were witnesses of His agony on the Cross, His death and His burial. Although they sincerely loved God and were devoted to Him, they were wayward in thinking that they would find the Lord’s body early in the morning and would anoint it with the aromatic oils they had prepared. How wonderful that God watches people from heaven, and as they search for the truth, He surely guides them.
As people, we are sometimes prisoners of our own thoughts and concepts of God. Let us not seek “the Living among the dead”. Let us not seek life among dead religious traditions and rituals. Let us listen to the heavenly voice of God’s Word. Let us seek the Living among the living. Only living faith in the resurrected Christ can make us alive spiritually.
To me, one of the greatest proofs and testimonies of Jesus Christ’s resurrection, my dear brothers and sisters, is our personal experience of being born again, or in other words, our spiritual resurrection from the dead! Jesus is alive, and so are we! Praise God that He not only breathes life into our spirit, but our bodies as well.
Romans 8:11: “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you”.
Dear readers, I greet you warmly with the words of great joy and hope – Jesus is risen!
With love,
Pastor Yuri Georgiev
