1st Corinth. 10:12-13So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it
The verse above contains, first of all, a warning for those who are sure of themselves – be careful not to fall. Perhaps, this can apply to those who are strong in faith and think they can afford flirting with sin without any consequences. Such a person is in great danger of spiritual fall. Flirting with sin brings emptiness in man’s life. Disobedience to God and His Word even in small things, leads to the loss of inner peace and sufferings caused by our own choice to live not according to spirit, but according to flesh. The Scripture clearly says that there is a connection between disobedience to God and such consequences as death, “but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death” (James 1:14). Without the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ a sinner is death’ grips.
I believe it was the will of God that within a short period of time our Church listened to several preachers from different countries about sufferings. Many of us go through a school of sufferings. Not always sufferings come as a result of our choice or as a consequence of our sin. Various sources of human sufferings impose a question: Why did God allow this in my life?
Secondly, the verse from Corinthians 10:13 contains amazing words of encouragement for those who are tempted: the temptations we deal with are common for all. However, God is faithful and He will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear. He does not promise to take away temptation from us, but He promises to limit its power. Furthermore, He promises a relief for us to stand up under it. I sincerely wish you, my dear ones, to have many spiritual victories. Praise be to the Lord for this consolation!
